All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Amarillo Globe News 17 Aug 1997 Lester Paul Long TEXHOMA, Okla. - Lester "Tuffy" Paul Long, 82, died Friday, Aug. 15, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m Monday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Harold James, Rollin Boothby, and Mike Dumler officiating. Dawson-Welch Funeral Home of Texhoma will handle the cremation. Mr. Long was born in Texhoma. He was a signal repairman for Rock Island Railroad. Mr. Long was an electrician, farmer and carpenter. He and his wife Gladys operated the Golden Spread Grill for 13 years. He also owned and operated the Golden Spur Motel for the last 30 years. He and his brother, Ike, also had a horse breeding business. He was a member of First Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys. Survivors include a son, Baylor Long of Texhoma, two daughters, Lana Ross of Texhoma and Paulette Boothby of Driftwood, Okla.; a brother, Ike Long of Texhoma; and six grandchildren.
