Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Victory Memorial United Church with the Rev. Mike Chaffin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon. Amarillo Globe-News 9 Jul 1999 ======== Mary Eloise Langston GUYMON, Okla. - Mary Eloise Langston, 89, died Wednesday, July 7, 1999, in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today in Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Chaffin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mrs. Langston was born in Guymon. She attended school in Dalhart and Guymon, where she graduated from Guymon High School. She was a volunteer to many boards and church activities. As a member of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, she was in the choir, was a Sunday school teacher and served on different committees over the years. She was a past president of P.E.O. Chapter AM and served as president of the W.S.C.S. She married James B. Langston in 1929 at Coldwater Creek. He died in 1966. She also was preceded in death by a stepson, James B. Langston Jr.; a stepdaughter, Marjorie Langston; and a grandson, Garrett Draper. Survivors include a daughter, Carrie Lou Draper of Guymon; a sister, Jennie Lou Ankers of Encino, Calif.; a brother, Russell Childers of Dalhart; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Mary Langston Memorial has been established in lieu of flowers. Memorials may be to the Children's Ministries at Victory Memorial United Methodist Church or the P.E.O. Chapter FQ Lovina Dale Scholarship; or a favorite charity. Memorials will be accepted at HensonNovak Funeral Home, Box 1306, Guymon, OK 73942.
