All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Amarillo Globe News 1 Mar 1998 Bessie Mayfield GUYMON, Okla. - Bessie Mayfield, 84, a former Guymon and Texhoma resident, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Elmhurst Cemetery with the Rev. Clifton Wooldridge, pastor of Northside Church of the Nazarene in Fort Worth, officiating. Arrangements are by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mrs. Mayfield was born in Liberal, Kan. She was raised in Texhoma and attended Texhoma High School. She married Bill Mayfield in 1932. They made their home in Texhoma before moving to Guymon in 1935. They later moved to Big Spring, Texas. After Mr. Mayfield's death in 1963, Mrs. Mayfield moved to Fort Worth, Texas. She was a member of the Guymon Rebekah Lodge. Survivors include her daughter, Billie Wooldridge of Fort Worth; a sister, Mildred McLean of Newton, Kan.; a brother, Kay Bartlett of Big Spring; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
