::Texhoma Cemetery--Texhoma TX

Elvis Maddox

TEXHOMA, Okla. - Elvis Maddox, 71, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, in 
Stratford, Texas.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in First Christian Church with Rob 
Chandler, pastor of First Christian Church in Stratford, officiating. 
Burial will be in the Texhoma, Texas, Cemetery by Dawson-Welch Funeral 
Home.

Mr. Maddox was born in Gotebo. In 1947, he moved from Gotebo to Texhoma. 
He married Eva Joy Stock in 1948 at Stratford. His wife preceded him in 
death in 1996.

He retired from the Texhoma Fire Department. He also was a mail carrier 
for the U.S. Postal Service for 24 years and drove a school bus. He was a 
member of the Christian Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn Martin of Guymon and Sharon Zeleny 
of Sulphur Springs, Texas; two sons, David Maddox of Summerville, S.C., 
and Mike Maddox of Houston; three sisters, Nadine Ross of Del City, 
Ophelia Terry of Choctaw and Sanis Saggs of Spring, Texas; three 
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to the Texhoma Fire Department c/o 
Dawson-Welch Funeral Home, Box 445, Texhoma, OK 73949.
