All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Hooker Cemetery--Hooker OK Dell Mathis HOOKER, Okla. - Dell Mathis, 82, died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at Liberal, Kan. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Hooker Church of Christ with Neville Buchanan and Gary Moore officiating. Burial will be in Hooker Cemetery by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Mathis was born in Elida, N.M., and moved with her family to Pampa. Later, she moved to Lefors, where she attended schools, graduated in 1934 and worked at the Post Office. She married Floyd Mathis in 1940 at Pampa. She and her husband moved to Artesia, N.M., back to Lefors, to Amarillo and to Hooker in 1950. She was a bookkeeper at Liberal Savings and Loan for 10 years, and at First National Bank for 9 years. For 48 years, she was a member of the Hooker Church of Christ, where she taught Bible school. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Joe Mathis of Guymon and Bryan Mathis of Hooker; a sister, Jo Inman of Dallas; three grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. The family suggests memorials be to Black Masa Bible Camp, Camp Billy Joe, and will be accepted at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.
