Mahaney Jr. GUYMON, Okla. - L.E. "Everett" Mahaney Jr., 76, died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Weichman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mr. Mahaney was born in Oklahoma City. At age 13, he began a career in the theater business, working as a projectionist. He continued this profession while serving during World War II at Pearl Harbor Naval Yard. After his retirement from the Navy, Mr. Mahaney returned to Oklahoma City where he worked as a film salesman for various film companies. He was an independent theater owner for 42 years, serving the Guymon community. He married Mary Joan McBurnett in 1945. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Una Jo Fowler of Perryton, Texas; a son, Charles Everett Mahaney of Oklahoma City; a sister, Rosemary Landrum of Miami, Okla.; two grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. The family requests memorials be to the Baptist Children's Home or a favorite charity c/o Henson-Novak Funeral Home, Box 1306, Guymon, OK 73942.
