Billy Lee Martinez

DES MOINES, N.M. - Billy Lee Martinez, 44, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1998, 
near Texline, Texas.

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic 
Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Des Moines School with P. 
Louis Montoya, deacon, officiating. Burial will be in Des Moines Catholic 
Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

Mr. Martinez was born in Raton and was a 1971 graduate of Des Moines High 
School. He served in the Air Force and was stationed at Cannon AFB in 
Clovis from 1972 to 1976. He was employed by Hofferber Trucking in Guymon, 
Okla., from 1976 until 1981, when he moved to Amarillo.

In Amarillo, Mr. Martinez worked for Borden's, Affiliated Foods and the 
Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center prior to his employment with 
Plains Transportation Co. in 1992.

Survivors include a daughter, Heather Carleen Martinez of Hooker, Okla.; 
two sisters, Renee Walker of Los Lunas and Polly Titsworth of Honolulu; 
his grandmother, Amelia Tarufelli Martinez of Des Moines; and a special 
friend, Saprina Coiner of Clovis.

The family suggests memorials be to a college fund for his daughter c/o 
City National Bank, P.O. Box 1228, Guymon, OK 73942.
