All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Elmwood Cemetery--Woodward OK Pittman, Viola Marie Lanham Viola Marie Lanham Pittman was born to George Solomon and Isa Dora (Daisy Bell) Hicks Lanham, on January 26th, 1918 at Cooley in Woodward County. She graduated from Woodward High School in 1937. Viola graduated from Northwestern State College in Alva 1942. Viola joined the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps or WAAC, serving during World War II. She helped with senior citizens, helped build the Ft. Supply Dam and Crystal Beach Amphitheater. Viola was a social worker for the state of Oklahoma in Texas County, living in Guymon until January, 1959. LeeRoy Pittman and Viola Lanham were married on July 18, 1958, at Clayton, NM, and lived in Bethany, OK. Roy preceded her in death on January 26, 1986. She went to be with Jesus on Sunday, December 14, 2003, at age 85 at The Lakes Care Center in Oklahoma City. Survived by a brother, Delbert George Lanham and wife Gertrude, of Albuquerque, NM, and a daughter/niece Evelyn Marie Lanham, grandchildren Anthony Lanham, Kyle Smith, & Dawn Marie Tarrant, and a great grandson, Connor Smith, nieces: Elaine Vaughn, Loretta Lanham, Alveta Rogers, Donna Rushing, Pam Turner, Patricia Nichols, Kezia O'Donnell, and nephews Darrell Lanham, Larry Lanham, Mike Lanham, Delbert Jr. Lanham, Ralph Lanham, Donald and Gerald Lanham, Bonnie Schultz, Ruth Carder, and Linda McKaughan, and many other great nieces & nephews. Services at Williams Memorial Church of the Nazarene, 50th & Willow in Bethany, OK at 10:00 AM on Fri., Dec. 19, with Committal at 3:00 PM at Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward, OK.
