Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Range Cemetery with the Rev. Don Calvert, pastor of Hardesty United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon. Mr. Pierson was born in Range. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was employed by Swift Packing Plant in Guymon. Survivors include two sisters, Elsie Lamb of Gruver, Texas, and Clarice Gilbert of Hardesty; and a brother, Alvis Pierson of Oroville, Calif. The family suggests memorials be to the Vernon Pierson Memorial for the Hardesty Senior Citizens, which will be accepted at the Henson-Novak Funeral Home, Box 1306, Guymon, OK 73942.
