Parnell PAMPA - Orville E. "Bill" Parnell, 77, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Grace Southern Baptist Church at Guymon, Okla., with the Rev. Randy Caddell, pastor of First Southern Baptist Church of Garden City, Kan., officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery at Guymon, Okla., by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Parnell was born in Wellsford, Kan. In 1940, he graduated from Greensburg High School at Greensburg, Kan. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy where he served aboard the USS Oklahoma and the USS Louisville during World War II. He had farmed in Holly, Colo., for 51 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Holly, and of the Central Baptist Church of Pampa. He was preceded in death by a son, Carl Parnell, in 1996. He married Doris Philippe in 1943 at Texhoma, Okla. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerry Parnell of Pueblo, Colo., and the Rev. Rick Parnell of Pampa; a sister, Ada Deyoe of Coldwater, Kan.; a brother, Elmer Parnell of Littleton, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
