All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Amarillo Globe News 5 April 1998 Charles Delbert Ray HARDESTY, Okla. - Charles Delbert Ray, 68, died Thursday, April 2, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. todayin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Calvert officiating. Burial will be in Hartville Cemetery by Henson- Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon. Mr. Ray was born in Guymon. He was raised in Hardesty and graduated from Hardesty High School with the class of 1949. He then attended the University of Oklahoma and received an associate's degree in civil engineering. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the Navy from 1951 to 1954 stationed on the USS George Clymor. Mr. Ray had been employed as a rural letter carrier for many years. He was a member of Guymon Lodge AF&AM No. 335. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite and the India Shrine Temple. Survivors include his brother, Bernard Ray of Spearman, Texas. A Charles Ray memorial has been established for the Shriners Children's Hospital.
