Rapp HOOKER, Okla. - Ruby K. Rapp, 91, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998. Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Cook officiating. Burial was in Hooker Cemetery by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Rapp was born in Garden City, Mo. In 1907, her family moved to the Oklahoma Panhandle, where they homesteaded northwest of Hooker. She attended Prairie Rose School. She married Louis Rapp in 1927 at her family's homestead. They moved to Lowry City, Mo., where they farmed. Two years later, they moved to Hooker, where they farmed northwest of town until 1943, when they bought their farm south of Hooker. Mr. Rapp died in 1961. Mrs. Rapp continued to live on the farm until 1995, when she moved to Good Samaritan Home in Liberal, Kan. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Hooker. She taught Sunday school and was a member of the Builder Class. Mrs. Rapp also was preceded in death by two sons, Sheldon and infant Emil Ray. Survivors include two sons, Loren Rapp and Jim Rapp, both of Hooker; three daughters, Roberta Cantrell of Amarillo, Ruth E. Boyles of Hooker and Beth Southern of Westchester, Pa.; a brother, Sammie Matter of Hooker; a sister, Ivy Hilty of Madras, Ore.; 16 grandchildren; and 23 great- grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Good Samaritan Home or a favorite charity.
