Loyd Rathbone

DALHART - Loyd Rathbone, 85, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1998.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today in Hass Funeral Home Chapel with the 
Rev. Bob Wood, First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in 
Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Rathbone was born in Tryon, Okla. He was a veteran of World War II who 
moved to Dalhart in 1948 with his first wife, May Cantrell. She died in 
1963.

For 27 years, Mr. Rathbone was employed as a heavy equipment operator for 
the city of Dalhart. He retired in 1975, then worked for Coronado Feeders 
until 1986. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

He married Dorothy Elizabeth Moore in 1963.

Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, Donna Beth Stefanek of 
Littleton, Colo.; a sister, Mildred Nettles of Rio Vista, Calif.; three 
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
