::Friona Cemetery--Friona TX

Harvey Shapley

FRIONA - Harvey Shapley, 89, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Friona United Methodist Church with 
the Rev. Don Boren officiating. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery by 
Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona.

Mr. Shapley was born in Hansford County. Before moving to Friona in 1991, 
he lived in Guymon, Okla., where he owned the Savaii Motel for 11 years. 
He retired as a farmer and was a member of the Friona United Methodist 
Church.

He married Bertha Brandvik in 1933 at Guymon. He was preceded in death by 
a son, Haskell Shapley, in 1996.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Betty Lewellen of Friona; three 
sisters, Gladys Alexander of Albuquerque, N.M., and Bernice Garret and 
Mirtie Mussett, both of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, F.A Shapley of Tucson, 
Ariz.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
