All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Jesse Stipe Jesse Stipe, 70, of Amarillo, died Monday, July 5, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church in Stratford with Jerry Davey, pastor of Pleasant Valley Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Llano Cemetery by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage. Mr. Stipe was born in Hartley County. He was employed by Dean Cluck Feed Yard in Gruver for 20 years then was divisional maintenance supervisor for Farr Better Foods in Guymon, Okla. He moved to Amarillo in January. Mr. Stipe joined Alcoholics Anonymous in 1975 and was an active member. He was the first director for the Panhandle Treatment Center in Guymon which opened in 1977. In 1984, Mr. Stipe married Beth Traver and they moved to Guymon. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Ewer, in 1983. They had married in 1951. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Gary Stipe of Portland, Ore., Jerry Mangum of Tulsa and Ray Stipe and Marty Stipe, both of Sunray; two daughters, Renee Bower of Guymon and Virginia Williams of Amarillo; three brothers; two sisters; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
