All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Gate Cemetery--Gate OK Orville Leroy Stanley GUYMON, Okla. - Orville Leroy Stanley, 89, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Grace Southern Baptist Church with the Rev. Aaron Summers officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Gate Cemetery at Gate, Okla., by BunchRoberts Funeral Home. Mr. Stanley was born in western Harper County on his grandparents' home place. He graduated from Gate High School at Gate in 1927. He farmed until retiring in 1971. He then moved to Guymon and worked as a cowboy at livestock auctions. Along with farming in Harper and Beaver counties, he raised horses. He was a longtime member of the American Quarter Horse Association and the Texas County Sheriff's Posse. He was preceded in death by his wives, Delma and Loureta, and a son, Harold Victor. Survivors include a son, Cecil Stanley of Gate; two daughters, Catharine Brooker of Fort Scott, Kan., and Lula King of Guymon; a brother, Charles Stanley of Medford, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
