Elmer O. Shilling

TEXHOMA, Okla. - Elmer O. Shilling, 81, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in James Church of God, 16 miles north 
of Texhoma. Burial will be in Texhoma Cemetery by Dawson-Welch Funeral 
Home of Texhoma.

Mr. Shilling was born south of Texhoma and attended Parson School. He 
moved with his family to Waverly, Kan., then returned to Texhoma after his 
marriage.

A farmer and rancher, Mr. Shilling was employed at the Texhoma Livestock 
Commission for many years. He teamroped with his son and was a member of 
the National Old Timers Rodeo Association.

He married Buena Marie Griffin in 1936 at Emporia, Kan.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Sammy Shilling of Goodwell; a daughter, 
Elnor Harland of Texhoma; a sister, Ruby Baker of Medicine Lodge, Kan.; 
two brothers, William Shilling of Waverly and Dean Shilling of San 
Antonio; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Texhoma Cemetery Fund.
