Grace Scroggs

SPEARMAN - Grace Scroggs, 89, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Union Church with the Rev. Bill 
Sparks and the Rev. Marlon Sparks officiating. Burial will be in 
Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

Mrs. Scroggs was born in Texas County, Okla., on March 5, 1914. She 
married Winfield Scroggs in 1939 at Raton, N.M. She was a homemaker. 
She was a member of Union Church. She was an artist all her life and 
enjoyed painting and sculpting.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989; a son, Buck Scroggs 
in 1998; a grandson, Bart Scroggs in 1998; and a granddaughter, 
Shelisa Staggs in 1992.

Survivors include four sons, Wilford Scroggs and Burl Scroggs, both 
of Dumas, Gary Scroggs of Perryton and Dale Scroggs of Stinnett; 
three daughters, Vera Longley of Elizabeth, Colo., Cheryl McSorley of 
Littleton, Colo., and Sue Staggs of Waka; 26 grandchildren; and 38 
great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Hansford Hospice, 707 Roland, 
Spearman, TX 79081.
