All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Forgan Cemetery--Forgan OK Amarillo Globe News 14 Feb 1999 Fred William Topinka FORGAN, Okla. - Fred William Topinka, 76, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Forgan United Methodist Church with Terry Fox officiating. Interment will be in the Forgan Cemetery under the direction of Clark Funeral Service in Beaver, Okla. Mr. Topinka was born in Forgan and spent most of his life there. He served in World War II, spending 39 months in Company B-309th Engineer Combat Battalion attached to the 84th Infantry Division. He served in England, Holland, Belgium and Germany. He received three Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart, among other medals. After his discharge, he worked in Fairview, Okla. He became a member of the Forgan United Methodist Church in 1951. He served as president of Methodist Men, president of the Forgan Lions Club and two years as Cub Master. He had 21 years of service with the Forgan Fire Department. He was an employee of MKT Railroad for 28 years. He started in the train service then was depot agent in Turpin, Okla., for 10 years, later as depot agent in Hooker, Okla. He worked for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation until his retirement. He married Ruth Fraim in 1950 in Clayton, N.M.
