Minnie Townsend

Minnie "Betty" Townsend, 87, of Amarillo, died Friday, Dec. 25, 1998.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in SchoolerGordon Funeral Directors 
Chapel, 5400 Bell St. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. 

Mrs. Townsend was born in Lebanon, Tenn., and moved to Amarillo from 
Guymon, Okla., in the mid-1940s. She was manager of sales for Hub 
Clothiers for more than 20 years.

Mrs. Townsend was a Doe with the Elks Club and a past member of Trinity 
Baptist Church. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Spradling, in 1984.

Survivors include a brother, Edd Lening of Denver; a sister, Bonnie 
Connally of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Ginger Robertson, Tamara 
Spradling and Beck Spradling; and three great-granddaughters, Tekie 
Robertson, Ashley Robertson and Jerrica Spradling.  

The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
