Voiles LOS ANGELES - Douglas B. Voiles, 41, a former Hooker, Okla., resident, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 1997. Services were at 10 a.m. Monday in United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Cook officiating. Burial was in Hooker Cemetery by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Voiles was born in Liberal, Kan. He attended Hooker public schools, graduating in 1974. He attended the University of Oklahoma and earned a bachelor of science degree. He then graduated from the Oklahoma University School of Law with an additional summer of graduate studies at Oxford University. He began his professional career with the law firm of Moyers, Martin, Santee, Imel and Tetrick in Tulsa. He then passed the California Bar Exam and joined a law firm in Los Angeles, specializing in medical malpractice defense. In 1995, he became a partner of the law firm of Schmid and Voiles. Mr. Voiles was a member of the American Bar Association and the California Bar Association. He was selected Attorney of the Year by the associates of his law firm. Survivors include his life partner, Kevin Cronin of Los Angeles; his father, J.D. Voiles of Hooker; a brother, John David Voiles of Fort Collins, Colo.; and three sisters, Rebecca Rae Montgomery of Fort Collins, and Barbara Esther Seawright and Zella Bess Martens, both of Hooker.
