Elmhurst Cemetery--Guymon OK

Gilbert L. Valdez

GUYMON, Okla. - Gilbert L. Valdez, 39, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today in St. Peter's Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 
a.m. Tuesday in the church with the Rev. Scott Adams officiating. Burial will be 
in Elmhurst Cemetery by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

Mr. Valdez recently celebrated his sixth anniversary as a kidney transplant 
recipient. He was employed with Guymon Public Schools as a parent coordinator 
with Project Ready at Academy Elementary.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two sons, Grogory and Adam of Guymon; three 
brothers, Johnny Valdez of Goodwell, Simon Sandoval of Fountain, Colo., and 
Facundo Valdez of Guymon; and four sisters, Theresa Saunders of Las Vegas, 
Dolores Ortiz of Woodward, Lucy Arguello of Sunray, Texas, and Helen Custor of 
Denver.

The family suggests memorials be to the National Kidney Foundation of the 
American Diabetes Association in care of Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 
1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
