All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm =================================================================== Obit for Emma Weeks Emma Weeks GUYMON, Okla. - Emma Weeks, 88, died Thursday, April 25, 2002. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Church of the Nazarene at Guymon with the Rev. Terry Armstrong, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mrs. Weeks, the daughter of Nancy Ellen (Hamilton) and James Wilson Pope, was born Sept. 24, 1913, north of Guymon in what is now the Hough community. She and Russell Weeks were married on June 28, 1933, in Liberal, Kan. She was a member and held many offices of home demonstration clubs for more than 66 years and was also a member of Guymon Order of the Eastern Star No. 419, serving as Worthy Matron and District Deputy. She had been very active in the Morning Star Methodist Church and the Straight Christian Church. Two weeks after their 59th anniversary, Russell Weeks passed away on July 6, 1992. Since moving to Guymon in 1994, she had made her church home at Guymon Church of the Nazarene. She was honored as 1997 Pioneer Queen. Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Stephens and husband, Tom, of Guymon; a son, Dwight Weeks of Edmond; four grandchildren, Vicki Jo Fehlberg and husband, Randy, of Guymon, Tamra Kay Clawson and husband, Dan, of Hardesty, Kimberly Ann Weeks of Amarillo and Douglas Allen Weeks of Tulsa; 10 great-grandchildren; and a special niece, LoRee Booth and husband, John, of Spearman. The family suggests memorials be to Guymon Church of the Nazarene and will be accepted at the church or at Henson-Novak Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1306, Guymon, OK 73942.
