Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Paramount Baptist Church with the Rev. Darrell Bonjour, pastor of deaf ministries at Paramount Baptist Church and the Rev. F.M. Byford, also of Paramount Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Whitfield was born in Texhoma, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo for more than 50 years. She was a homemaker and had worked in sales at Dunlaps, Colbert's and Eva's Shoes. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile and Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She married Henry H. Whitfield in 1944. He died in 1999. She was the mother of James Henry Whitfield who also died in 1999. Survivors include two sons, Ronny Whitfield and Jerry David Whitfield, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Carri Ann Cronig of Lewisville; four sisters, Lorene Farris of Canyon, Margie Pettus and Lucille Dabney, both of Amarillo and Betty Martin of Holly, Colo.; a brother, Gene Wright of Arlington; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Texas County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/texas/texas.html
