All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Amarillo Globe News 7 Feb 1998 Robert Zunk HOOKER, Okla. - Robert "Bob" Zunk, 67, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, in Aurora, Colo. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First Christian Church with the Rev. Betty Stanke and the Rev. J. Robert Herrod of St. John's Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Hooker Cemetery by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Zunk was born and raised in Milwaukee. He moved to Hooker, where he worked at the DX Service Station, farmed and was a butcher at the Ideal Food Store before beginning work for Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America. He worked 36 years at Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America, and during that time he became a locksmith, a trade he performed for 25 years. He owned and operated Tumbleweed Lock and Key. He also owned and operated the Pages of the Past Museum from 1962 to 1970. Mr. Zunk was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church as a young man. He was a member of First Christian Church in Hooker. He had been a member of the Hooker Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years and also was a member of the Lions Club and Jaycees. He married Dolores Loughridge in 1950 at Hooker. Survivors include his wife; a son, Steve Zunk of Chicago; three daughters, Vickie Davis of Aurora, Kathy Sumner of Garden City, Kan., and Beckie Masse of Canyon Lake, Texas; seven grandchildren; and a great- granddaughter. The family requests memorials be to the Hooker Ambulance Association or the Hooker Firefighters Association.
