GIBBS Funeral services for Barney Wesley Gibbs, retired area farmer will be held at 3 P.M., Saturday at the Gish Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Mart Hardin, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. Gibbs passed away at 6 P.M., Thursday at his home at 700 North 12th Street in Frederick after a short illness. Interment will be in the Frederick Cemetery under the direction of the Gish Funeral Home. Mr. Gibbs was born May 5, 1894 the son of William Rutledge and Mary Jeanette Hobbs Gibbs, and he attended Hurst School, Southwest of Frederick . He came to Tillman County in 1902 and lived in the consolidated No. 2 Community and later moved northwest of Frederick. His first wife Bessie Rose Gibbs, preceded him in death in 1939. He and Mrs. Jennie Payne were married August 7, 1944 at Raton, N.M. Survivors include his wife of the home address, Three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Helen) Santos, Lawton, Mrs. Jack Francis (Rine) Pinson, Tipton, and Mrs. C.W. (Evagean) Tucker of Frederick; four sisters Mrs. Vernie Delaney, Mrs. Joe (Minnie) Peters, Mrs. Barney (Lora) Etter, all of Frederick, and Mrs. Addie Wages of Oklahoma City, One brother Amos Gibbs of Frederick; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
