The son of Nicholas and Sally DUDLEY COCHNAUER, he was born on May 1, 1918, in Bennington, Oklahoma, where he grew up and attended school. He moved to the Grandfield area in 1939, and he had lived there for the remainder of his life. He was a former Tillman County employee, and was a retired farm laborer. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served from Dec. 19, 1939 to August 29, 1942. He was a member of Grandfield Calvary Baptist Chruch. He was married to Rose MCGARRY on June 1, 1943 in Frederick. Survivors include a daughter, Jo Ann; a step-daughter, Neoma; a stepson, Bill; a brother, Lon and five grandchildren. One son, Jacky, preceded him in death in May, 1984.
