GROSE OF TIPTON DIES AT HOME __________________________________________ Funeral Services Will Be Held at 2:30 O'clock Tuesday Afternoon Tipton, December 4 ---- J. L. Grose, prominent pioneer resident of the Tipton community passed away at his home a mile south and three miles east of Tipton Tuesday evening a 9 o'clock of a heart ailment. He had been critically ill for the past three weeks. Funeral services will be held at the Tipton Church of Christ Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. F. F. Whitaker and Ruel Lemmons will conduct the rites. Interment will be made in the Tipton Cemetery. Grose was born on May 30, 1864 in Missouri. He was married in Arkansas on April 17, 1888, to Miss Effie Thomas. They came to Tillman County in 1911, moving from Grayson County, Texas. Grose was a member of the Church of Christ and had long been active in religious and community affairs. In addition to his widow, Grose is survived by two daughters, Mrs Carrrie Martin, Tipton, and Mrs. Grace Thompson, Friendship three sons, Dave Grose, Joe Grose, and Alf Grose, all of Tipton fifteen grandchildren and two great grand children two brothers, D. S. J. Grose of Kansas and S. P. Grose of Arkansas, and a sister, Mrs. M. E. Mullin, living in Arkansas. Grose was widely and favorably known in Tillman County and held the respect of all who knew him.
