Gibbs Rites Saturday At Baptist Here Funeral services honoring Hardy Lesley (PECK) Gibbs, resident of Tillman County since 1902, will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at the First Baptist Church here, with Rev. Mart Hardin, pastor, and O.R. Newman officiating. Interment is be at Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Gish Funeral Home in charge. Gibbs died at his home 305 South 16th Street, Thursday after a prolonged illness. A native Oklahoman, Gibbs was born at Tussy on March 24, 1896 the son of William R. and Ho Mary Jeanette Hobbs Gibbs. He came to Tillman County in 1902 with his family and was married at Davidson to Mary Lillian Laney on August 10, 1919 a prominent businessman, Gibbs had followed the occupation of farming and was in the Restaurant field until his retirement. He was a member of the Baptist Church and American Legion, having served with the Armed Forces during World War I. Survivors include the wife of the home address, son Leslie Wayne Gibbs, Frederick; daughter, Mrs. Leroy (Anna Lois) Lynch, Frederick; six grandchildren; two brothers, Barney Gibbs and Amos Gibbs, both of Frederick. Four sisters, Mrs. Vernie Delaney, Mrs. Joe (Minnie) Peters, and Mrs. Barney (Lora) Etter, all of Frederick, and Mrs. B. (Addie) Wages of Oklahoma City. A son preceded him in death.
