Peters, age 57, died at 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 4, 1982 in Memorial Hospital, Frederick. Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gish Funeral Home. Born May 12, 1924 at Frederick, Peters was the son of Joe L. Peters and Minnie (Gibbs) Peters. A farmer and cattleman, Peters was a member of the Church of Christ and served in the Merchant marine during World War II. For a number of years Peters served as secretary for the Farmers Co-Op Grain and Cotton Company's board of directors. He was a member of the Hootenanny Bridge Club and the Frederick Golf and Country Club. A graduate of Henderson No. 3 School, Peters attended Oklahoma State University. He married the former Margaret Dickson at Vernon (Texas) on June 26, 1948. Survivors include his wife of the home at 1011 North 19th in Frederick; two sons, Dale Lynn Peters and Roy Jefferson Peters of Oklahoma City; and his father Joe L. Peters of Frederick. Peters was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Joe L. Peters in 1978. FREDERICK PRESS MARCH 11, 1982 pg. 4 DEATHS - PETERS Services were held for Joe Doyle Peters, 57, of Frederick, March 7 at the Gish Memorial Chapel. Rev. Harry England, minister of the First Christian Church and Leon Sharp, of the Church of Christ officiated. Gish Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery. Peters died March 4, at the Memorial Hospital. He was born to Joe L. Peters and Minnie Gibbs on may 12, 1924 in Frederick. He had served as secretary to the Farmers Coop Board. He was a member of the Hootanany Bridge Club and the Frederick Golf and Country Club. Peters served in the Merchant Marines during WW II. Mrs. Sam Emanuel sang "Just a Closer Walk With Thee," "Take My Hand, Precious Lord" and "The Lord's Prayer." Mrs. Harold Gaskill was organist.
