Mr. Sparks died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at his home. ========= Lawton Constitution August 19, 2003 Eldon Earl 'Hottie' Sparks DAVIDSON -- Funeral for Eldon Earl "Hottie" Sparks, 77, Davidson, will be at 2 p.m. today at Jackson Funeral Home Chapel, Frederick, with the Rev. Ronnie Chadwick officiating. Mr. Sparks died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at his home. Burial will be at Davidson Cemetery. He was born Dec. 5, 1925, in Davidson to Walter Frank and Vera Elizabeth Lovelady Sparks. He attended Davidson Public Schools and graduated in 1944. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Patsy Ruth Burke on Jan. 1, 1945 in Davidson. She died Jan. 7, 1998. He retired as a rural mail carrier for Frederick and Davidson after many years of service. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons and their wives: Larry and Jerri Sparks and Gary and Ramona Sparks, all of Davidson; a daughter, Eldona Wright and her husband Alvin, Edmond; two sisters: Loretta Colquitt and her husband, John, Guthrie; and Emalou Haskin, Wichita Falls, Texas; seven grandchildren: Eddie Sparks and his wife, Keri; Shannon Massie and her husband Scott; Lindsey and Lacey Wright and Kristina, Amber and Haley Sparks; and three great-grandchildren: Brooke and Trevor Sparks and Alexis Massie. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Anna Louise Sparks.
