There is a fence around the cemetery, but there are two gates from which access may be obtained. Civil War veteran Lt. Thomas Adams, a Creek Indian, created this cemetery in 1883. He also founded the settlement of Oktahv Uekiwa (Sand Spring) from which oilman Charles Page later created current day Sand Springs by purchasing his land allotments, along with several others. Burials occurred in the cemetery between 1883 and 1912, which are listed below. The Tulsa Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) placed a stone and plaque noting the "Old Indian Cemetery" at an unknown date. Their sources of documentation are unknown. In 1986, Eagle Scout John Franklin Turner repaired the cemetery by repositioning many of the overturned stones with cement. He also placed a plaque with burial names. His documentation is also unknown. The majority of the graves are unmarked.
