PROMINENT SAPULPANS ARE MARRIED YESTERDAY
Lester H. Childress and Ethel Griffith, and Newell D. Menifee, and Nan Kelley Set Life’s Sail
Sapulpa, Okla., Oct. 21 – Two notable home weddings occurred here today.  One was that of Lester H. Childress, 
deputy district court clerk, and son of County Commissioner M.A. Childress, who was married to Miss Ethel 
Griffith, daughter of the well-known architect, who maintains an office in Tulsa.  This wedding occurred at 
a morning hour.
	This evening, at 8 o’clock, the wedding of Newell D. Menifee, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Menifee, and 
assistant cashier of the American National Bank, was united in marriage to Miss Nan Kelley, a charming young 
lady reared in Sapulpa and very popular.  On account of the recent death at Washington of the brother-in-law 
of the bride, Edwin K. McKeever, the wedding was a quiet affair.
	Each participant in the important events noted are exceedingly popular in Sapulpa society and there 
has been keen interest in the affairs.
