(Tulsa, Indian Terr.), Vol. 7, No. 223, Ed. 1 Tuesday, June 4, 1912 UNIQUE WEDDING IN COUNTY COURT ROOM Judge Gubser Tied the Knot for Deaf and Dumb Couple The most unique marriage ever performed in the county court was held last Saturday when a deaf and dumb couple were joined by County Judge Gubser. The groom’s name was Elmer D. Moore, age 38, of Tulsa and Effie Maple Clements, age 25, of Coats, Kansas. Judge Gubser was a little nonplussed when the couple approached him talking on their fingers. The difficulty was soon overcome when the court stenographer was summoned. She wrote down the questions as Judge Gubser read them and then read them to the couple. They wrote down their answer and the ceremony was over.
