Rockford ave., prominent pioneer Tulsa woman, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church. Mrs. Brennan, for many years active in Catholic church work, died of a heart attack Monday at her home after an illness of about 2 years. She was the widow of Edward J. Brennan, oilman and real estate dealer, who died in 1929. A native of Pennsylvania, Mrs. Brennan and her husband came here in 1909 from Mounds where they lived for 2 years. The couple's first home here was at 1601 S. Newport ave. He later platted the area into lots and named the section Morningside addition. Mr. Brennan also platted the Swan Lake addition and opened the first sections of the present Brookside and Brenrose additions. At one time he owned the property where Swan Lake is located. Mr. Brennan changed the name from Orcutt Lake to Swan Lake and later gave the property to the city. Mrs. Brennan was a member of Christ the King Catholic church, Christ the King Women's club and St. Ann's Grandmother's club. She was a past president of the women's club of the church. Survivors include three sons, Paul F. Brennan, 3222 S. Utica ave, Leo J. Brennan, 1197 E. 49th st., and Edward J. Brennan, 1517 S. Quaker ave.; a daughter, Mrs. R. T. Burke, of the home; a brother, Michael McCauley, and a sister, Mrs. Agnes Long, both of Altoona, Pa., and nine grandchildren. Interment will be in Calvary cemetery under the direction of the Fitzgerald funeral home."
