A rosary will be recited by Christ the King's Women's club at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Fitzgerald funeral home chapel. He died Monday in a Tulsa hospital following a 2-month heart ailment. Mr. Brown was a veteran oilman and was formerly a part owner with the late Earl Miller of the Crest Oil Co. Mr. Brown had been with the exploration department of the Sinclair Oil and Gas Co., for the last 12 years. He was a native of Macon, Mo., and moved to Tulsa from Beaumont, Tex., 40 years ago. Before organizing the Crest company he was with the land department of the Gypsy Oil Co. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic church. Survivors include his widow, Marie, and a son, Walter Brown, Jr., both of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Jack Allen, Oklahoma City, and Mrs. John Drury, Los Angeles; two sisters Mr. A.E. Gates and Elizabeth Brown, both of Laredo, Tex., and four grand-children. Interment will be in Calvary Catholic cemetery under direction of the Fitzgerald funeral home.
