Born October 8, 1953 in Tulsa to Samuel T. Coleman and Alice Douglass Coleman. She attended Tulsa Public Schools graduating from Memorial High School in 1971. She attended DePauw University, graduated from Washington University in St. Louis and received her Master's of Social Work from the University of South Florida in 1983. She completed a Post Master's Clinical Fellowship at the Menninger Foundation in Topeka, KS, in 1984. She was licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in Florida and Oklahoma. She worked in community mental health centers as well as in-patient facilities with severely disturbed children and adolescents. She became qualified as an expert witness in 4 states, including New York and was recognized as an excellent diagnostician in character pathology and development disorders like Autism and Asberger's Syndrome. Throughout her life she was active in the Boston Avenue Methodist Church voice and bell choirs, UMW organizations and mission work, including a mission trip to Nicaragua in 1996, until a heart transplant on July 24, 1997, forced her to curtail her activities. She is survived by: her mother, Alice, of Tulsa; a brother, John, of Denver; a nephew, Paul, of Los Angeles; a niece, Kathleen, of Tulsa; and many friends. She was predeceased by: her father, Samuel T.; and her brother, Tom Coleman. Stanleys
