Mr. Grisham was born April 13, 1931, in Enid, Oklahoma, the son of Roy and Madeline Grisham. He was a former teacher, retired juvenile probation officer and a Baptist Minister. He wrote gospel music and was a co-founder of River Valley Baptist Bible College, Poteau, Oklahoma. Mr. Grisham is survived by his eight children: David Alton Grisham, Jr., Fayetteville, Arkansas; Jeanette Grisham Lanier, Saint Helena Island, South Carolina; Madeline Grisham Benham, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Alice Grisham Mohn, Belfair, Washington; John Roy Grisham, Houston, Texas; Peter Martin Grisham, Corpus Christie, Texas; Rachel Grisham Briscoe, Corpus Christie, Texas; and Eric Andrew Grisham, Wagoner, Oklahoma; eighteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, and two nephews. Service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 21, at Springhill Baptist Church, Monroe, Oklahoma. Service under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home, Poteau, Oklahoma.
