Dittus, 76, of Tulsa, Okla., and formerly of Loveland died Feb. 8, 2004. He was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Hebron, N.D., to Rudolph and Winnifred Dittus. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Philippines. After discharge he earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from North Dakota State University. He moved to Loveland in 1951 to work on a power plant on the Big Thompson River. He met and married his wife, Dottie, in Loveland in 1952. Mr. Dittus later traveled the world building pipelines. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dottie; two sons, Tom Dittus and Jim Dittus and wife Judi; one daughter, Julie Forrester and husband Keith; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Mitch Dittus; a brother, Tom Dittus; and a sister, Joyce Keisse.
