Visitation: March 22, 2002 Service: March 23, 2002 Cemetery: Sinnett Cemetery Fount Boyd Bartley of Sand Springs was born May 17, 1922 in Payette, Arkansas to Alex J. I and Mary Ellen Bartley. At an early age the family moved to the Old Keystone area where Boyd attended Leroy and the Tangle Wood schools. In 1941 Boyd moved to Snyder and in July of 31, 1941 Boyd was married to Freida Louise (Yeckley) at Indiahoma, Oklahoma and to this union there are four children Larry, Dennis, Randy and Carolyn. In November of 1942 Boyd was inducted into the U.S. Army Air Corp. Boyd served as an aerial gunner in World War II with his twin brother Thomas in the Air Offensive in Europe, Normandy and Northern France. During his service to his country Boyd received the following medals and honors, Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart, Air Medal with Three Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, and the EAME Service Ribbon with Three Bonze Stars. Boyd was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant in 1945. Upon his return from World War II Boyd and Freida moved to the Keystone Area. In 1948 Boyd gained employment with Armco which later became Sheffield Steel in Sand Springs. Boyd retired from Sheffield Steel in 1982. Boyd enjoyed doing anything that had to do with the outdoors as well as cutting wood or hunting. He was also a member of the Oak Hill Church on Keystone Lake. He was preceded in death by parents; wife twin brother, Thomas Bartley. Boyd passed away March 20, 2002 at Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years 10 months and 3 days. Survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Larry Boyd and Teresa Bartley, Mannford, Oklahoma; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis Loyd and Barbara Bartley, Tulsa, Oklahoma; son, Randy Keith Bartley, Sapulpa, Oklahoma; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Tracy Harris, Tulsa, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two brothers, Ray Bartley, Sand Springs, Oklahoma; Vernon Bartley, Sand Springs, Oklahoma; sister, Vinita Comer, Cleveland, Oklahoma; Services will be held February 23, 2002 at 2:00 pm at Oak Hill Church on Keystone Lake, officiated by Rev. Harrel Jones. Burial will be at Sinnett Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Dennis Bartley, Jr., Christopher Bartley, Jason Bartley, Chad Bartley, Steven Bartley Dustin Bartley, (H) Lane Bartley, (H) Jonathan Bartley, (H) John Harris, (H) Will Cheers and (H) Don Hogue.
