Grow 85, of Jacksonville, died Thursday (Jan. 3, 2002) in Medford.No services are planned.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 10 Crater Lake Ave., Suite 10, Medford, OR 97501, or to a charity of choice.He was born March 14, 1916, in Collinsville, Okla., the son of John E. and Alma Grow. On May 29, 1965, in Medford, he married Dorna McIntyre-Smith, who survives.He lived in the Rogue Valley most of his life, and attended Oak Grove Grade School, Eagle Point High School, and Southern Oregon Normal School. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force, where he was a flight instructor, and played trombone in the Air Force Band.Mr. Grow worked as a machinist for Medco Corp., and retired in 1970. He enjoyed playing music, hunting, fishing, and gardening.He was a member of the Shady Cove Masonic Lodge, the Medford Elks Club and the Central Point Grange. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, John Hal Grow, Trail; three daughters, Nanette Edmondson, Sams Valley, Debbie Chastain, Klamath Falls, Kathyryn Rambo, Lead, S.D.; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
