He passed away Thursday, October 2, 2008 at his home in Council Hill, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years 8 months and 14 days. Jimmy was married to Betty Ann (Houtz) Hewitt, in Tulsa, Oklahoma on January 7, 1971. He worked as a skilled a Brick Mason. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Billy & Onis Hewitt, and one sister, Maxine Hewitt Survived by his Wife, Betty Ann Hewitt, of the home; 4 sons, Jimmy Dale Hewitt, Jr. & wife Judy, San Antonio, Texas; Charley Jake Hewitt, Wagoner, Oklahoma; John Hewitt & wife Dottie, Council Hill, Oklahoma; and Ed Hewitt & wife Deana, Council Hill, Oklahoma; 2 daughters, Glenda Fowler & husband Paul, Council Hill, Oklahoma; and Rhonda Rutherford & husband Joe, Hectorville, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren, Cathy Hewitt, Eugene Hewitt,Jamie Hewitt, Autumn Wagoner, Brittany Morgan, Matt Hewiitt, Justin Hewitt, Josh Hewitt, Ryan Fowler, Kendale Fowler, Raylynn McIntosh, and Audrey Rutherford, 3 brothers, Jack Hewitt, Porter, Oklahoma; Howard Hewitt, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and Norman Hewitt, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; as well as a host of other relatives & friends., Pallbearers will be the members of the Standing Tall Antique Tractor Club. Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 6, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Countryside Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Dennis Bible. Burial will be at Council Hill Cemetery under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home.
