MARKWELL From the Medford (OR) Mail Tribune 7-23-2002 at www.mailtribune.com David A. Markwell A private celebration of the life of David A. Markwell is set on Wednesday at his home. Mr. Markwell, 55, of Medford, died Saturday (July 20, 2002) at his home. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church Food Pantry Fund, 1900 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504. He was born July 5, 1947, in Tulsa, Okla., the son of Earl and Joanne Markwell. He married Cheryl Cole Merriman on July 12, 1992, in Sacramento, Calif. Mr. Markwell, who held a doctorate degree, was an educational administrator for the Medford School District for 16 years. He was dean of students at McLoughlin Junior High School for 13 years. He was a member of Riverhawks, Grand Canyon Boaters Association and the Medford First Christian Church. He enjoyed whitewater rafting and fly fishing. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Shelley Biss, Anchorage, Alaska; a son, Paul, Medford; a stepdaughter, Amy Merriman, Medford; a stepson, Tim Merriman, Medford; his parents, Joanne and Earl Markwell, Sacramento; a brother, Richard, Sacramento; and a sister, Jacque Flynn, Burke, Va.
