He was born Friday, November 20, 1958 to Ralph and Amaryllus (McCann) Smith in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On December 28, 1987, he married Carla Ann Phillips in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Okmulgee and a member of the Promise Keepers as well as a leader for the March for Jesus. Mike loved going fishing, riding his bikes, water sports and camping. He was preceded in death by his mother, Amaryllus Smith in June 2004, grandmother: Floy Smith and grandfather: John McCann. Survivors include: wife: Carla Smith of the home; father: Ralph Smith of Okmulgee; two sons: Steven E.L. Smith of Okmulgee and Joshua Allan Gilmore of Inola; one daughter: LaDonna Ann Shepherd and husband, Danny of Okmulgee; one sister: Faith Elaine Gasaway and husband, Jim of Okmulgee; one brother-in-law (son): Samuel Ray Trout and wife, Chelse of Henryetta: eight grandchildren: Samantha, Landon, William, Bailey, Samuel, Brandon, Trever and KayLyn; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2005 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Okmulgee with Reverend Lawrence Matlock officiating. Burial will follow t he service at the Morris Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Pallbearers will be J.R. Gasaway, Steven Smith, Dusty Foreman, John Hewitt, Stephen Ostmo and Luke Shanks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie Smith, Carl Glenn, Buckshot Dearman and Zack Ledbetter.
