Aug. 9, 2002 in Fort Smith, Ark. She was born in Tulsa on Oct. 20, 1937. Jacqueline graduated from Northeastern State University at Tahlequah with a BA degree in Music Education and from North Texas State University with a Master of Education degrees. She taught and was a principal in the Dallas Independent School District for 33 years before retiring and moving to Fort Smith where she was a Branch Manager at the Dallas Street Branch Library of the Fort Smith Public Library System. She was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church and sang in the chancel choir and was a member of the Prime Chime Ringers. She also served on the Alter Committee. She belonged to the ALPS Roundtable of the ARLA and has served on its executive board. While in Dallas, she served as the Elementary Chair for the MENC and was registration chairperson for the TAIR Conference for 12 years. She was an ardent genealogist. She was preceded in death by her father, James Millard Rhodes and her step-father, John Junior Starks. She is survived by her husband, Fred of the home; her mother, Rosalie McClanahan of Enid; one sister, Jonette Bracy of Enid; two brothers, Michael Rhodes of Dallas, TX; and Jeffrey Rhodes of Bloomington, IL; one son, Carl Harrell and wife Tina of Garland, TX; a step-daughter, Alissa Kaun and husband Paul of Hickory Creek, TX; four granddaughters, Hollie, Madison, Amber and Sydney Harrell of Garland, TX; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pam and Martin Richter of DeSoto, TX; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Goddard United Methodist Church at 2 pm., Tues. on Aug. 13, 2002 under the direction of Fentress Funeral Home of Fort Smith. Pallbearers were Jim Miller, John and Bradley Ellis, John Scott Pixley and Randall Johnson. The family visited with friends from 7 - 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Mon. Aug. 12, 2002. Memorial contributions may be made to Goddard United Methodist Church, 1922 Dodson Avenue, Fort Smith, AR, 72901 or Fort Smith Library, 3201 Rogers Avenue, Fort Smith, AR, 72903. Committal service was held at 3 p.m. Wed. Aug. 14, 2002 at Restland Memorial park in Dallas, TX under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
