Funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 11 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas More University Parish in Norman with Father Bill Ross and Father Joe Ross presiding. Interment in the Denver Cemetery. Jean was born February 25, 1928, to Cleo and Don Hill in El Dorado, KS. The family moved shortly thereafter to Tulsa, where Jean was raised. She graduated in 1945 from Marquette Catholic High School in Tulsa, attended St. Mary's College in Kansas and then graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in Art History. She married Bob Montgomery on April 15, 1950 in Tulsa. Following an active military career, Jean and Bob and their 7 children settled in Norman. Jean elped mold her children's lives and also the lives of her niece and nephew, Maggie and Jim. Jean's deep religious faith kept her very active at St. Thomas More. She was a founding member of the first ospice program in Cleveland County and was a passionate RAIN team volunteer. For many years she was a precinct official in Norman and a board member of the Denver Cemetery Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Cleo Hill and her husband, Robert A. Montgomery. Jean is survived by: her 7 children, Dr. Pat Montgomery and wife Sandy, their children Andrea and Brian of Lawton; Michael Montgomery and wife Melinda of Norman; Tom Montgomery and wife Roberta, their children Renee and Travis of Tulsa; Catie Barton and husband Jim, their children Tyler and Sally of Norman; Liz Klawitter and husband, John, their children Gentry and Allie of Tulsa; Chris Montgomery and wife Belynda of Austin, TX; and Denise Montgomery of Norman. She is also survived by sisters, Joan Allen and her husband Jack of Muskogee and Mary Margaret Sloan of Houston, TX. Service by Havenbrook Funeral Home.
