She graduated from High School at age 16, attended college for 2 years, and taught music in the public schools for 2 years prior to entering the University of Oklahoma, completing a BFA degree in music in 1930. On June 5, 1932, she married Fay Thomas Anderson of Tulsa. As a member of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, she served as President of the Women's Society of Christian Service (now United Methodist Women), organized the Victory Circle, and was a member of the Ephaphtha Sunday School Class for the hearing impaired until her move to California in 1994. Nola and her husband were married 56 years. She is survived by: a son, Thomas W. Anderson; 2 daughters, Sue Grofman and Carolyn Stenberg; 2 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. A Memorial service will be conducted in the Rose Chapel, Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, Tulsa, at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 22, 2007. Private Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa. Published in the Tulsa World on 2/11/2007.
