The Rev. Carmelo Mifsud will officiate. The graveside service will follow at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Mr. Kirby, 53, of Central Point, died Wednesday (Oct. 13, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family Fund of Transplant Recipients, Department of Surgery, Attn: Sharon Daley, "In memory of Richard Kirby," University of Washington, Box 356310, 1959 Pacific Ave., Seattle, WA 98195-6310, or to the Asante Health Foundation, Child Development Services, 12650 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford, OR 97504. He was born Sept. 3, 1946, in Tulsa, Okla. On Sept. 6, 1975, in Riverside, Calif., he married Terri Liggett, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Riverside, Calif., in 1979. Mr. Kirby was a telemarketer for Combined Transport in Central Point. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and received the Purple Heart in Vietnam. Mr. Kirby was a member of the Catholic Church. He enjoyed communicating with people, football and fishing. Survivors include his mother, Jeanne Gorman, Enid, Okla.; a brother, Thomas, Broken Arrow, Okla.; and a sister, Janet Cordell, Enid, Okla.
