Scott From the Medford (OR) Mail Tribune 10-01-2002 at www.mailtribune.com G.L. Scott The celebration of the life of G.L. Scott will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at his home. Mr. Scott, 76, of Rogue River, died Sunday (Sept. 29, 2002) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grants Pass Gospel Rescue Mission, 120 S.E. J St., Grants Pass, OR 97526, or St. Joseph’s Children’s Home in South Dakota. He was born April 23, 1926, in Tulsa, Okla., to Arlie and Emma Scott. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. On Dec. 19, 1981, in Denver, he married Gwen Gustafson, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1984 from Denver. Mr. Scott worked in the oil industry, most recently as chairman of the board for Pipeline Service Co. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Scott enjoyed investing, gaming, animals and helping people. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Cathy Wittrock, in Colorado, and Cindy Taylor, in Texas; two sisters, Betty Long and Nadine Branch, both Rogue River; and three grandchildren.
