She was born in Nemaha,Nemaha Co.,Nebraska on April 15,1915 to Othe Raymond and Florence ( Denny ) Kelly. She married Glenn Cecil Saum October 9, 1934 in Marysville, Kansas. Vera attended and graduated from the Nemaha City schools. Vera was baptized at the Nemaha City Christian Church where she also was a member. Vera in her youth belonged to the Kensington and Mental Culture Club through the Christian church in Nemaha, Nebraska. Vera and her husband Glenn were Tulsans since 1939. They owned and operated their first restaurant White Castle,later selling to operate a diner in the old downtown post office in Tulsa. She was a member of East Side Christian Church, Harvard St., Tulsa, OK. She was a life member of the Tulsa Eastern Star, Circle Chapter NO. 403 O.E.S. where she had attained the post of Worthy Matron. Vera will be missed by her many friends and relatives and remembered for her undying kindness and deeds to others. She is survived by sisters; Maxine Roberts, Arthur, Iowa and Norma Lee Salmons, Lousiana, MO.,many nieces,one nephew,and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glenn, stepson Robert Saum, sister Pauline Osborn, brothers-in-laws Alvin Roberts, Kenneth Osborn,John Salmons,and several nieces and nephews. No services will be held. Donations may be made to Grace Hospice, Tulsa, OK or a Hospice in your area. Internment will be July 28, 2005 at the Rose Hill Mausoleum, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
